Novice Bronze (USA Hockey 0-1)

Beginners, new to hockey, learning to skate backward. Not yet comfortable with crossovers. Hockey moms, older beginners, weak skaters.

Novice Silver (USA Hockey 1-2)

Normal novice players. Newer to hockey, no formal coaching. Fundamental skating and stick-handling skills. Traditional "D" level teams. Sioux City ICE typically plays at this level.

Novice Gold (USA Hockey 2-3)

Average beer league skaters. Some house high school experience. Generally athletic with good knowledge of the game. No travel high school players.

Intermediate Bronze (USA Hockey 3-3.5)

Average house high school players, some travel high school. Traditional "C" level teams. No college-level players.

Intermediate Silver (USA Hockey 3.5-4)

Varsity high school or competitive midget level. Substantial hockey abilities with coaching experience.

Intermediate Gold (USA Hockey 4-6)

Best skaters in the league. Junior B, ACHA (College Club), Midget AAA. Traditional "B" level teams. Elite high school or junior level experience.
