OMAHA GOODLIFE HOCKEY TOURNAMENT 2026

April 24-26, 2026 | Omaha, Nebraska

Sioux City ICE Intermediate Team - Intermediate C Division Champions

INTERMEDIATE C DIVISION CHAMPIONS

What a weekend. Seriously.

Our Intermediate C team took home the Division Championship - and our Novice B squad battled all the way to the semi-finals before falling by just one goal. That stings, but man, what a run.

This is the farthest we've had a team go in almost 7 years. And to have BOTH teams make it to championship/semi-final rounds? That's never happened. Not even close.

Fresh Look, Fresh Start

This tournament also marked the debut of our brand new jerseys (reversible btw). These things are SHARP. The boys looked clean out there, and it felt like a new era for Sioux City ICE.

The Novice Run

Our Novice team came out grinding - tied their first two games, then absolutely dominated game three with a 6-goal differential. Game four? Came down to one goal. That's hockey. Sometimes it just doesn't bounce your way, but nobody can say they didn't leave everything on the ice.

Fell just one goal shy. Nothing but respect.

More Than Just Hockey

Look - running two full teams at a tournament is chaos. Twice the people, twice the scheduling headaches, twice everything. But somehow, through all the laughter, the jokes, the pranks, and yes, the occasional "creative" locker room antics... we made it work.

Shoutout to everyone who showed up to those late practices. And maybe an even bigger shoutout to the wives and girlfriends who let us attend them. We see you. We appreciate you. (Please don't remind us how many we've missed.)

Seeing familiar faces in the stands - family and friends cheering us on - that hit different. This isn't just a hockey club. It's a community. And this weekend proved it.

The Adult Hockey Reality

Whether we pulled a groin, popped more Tylenol than we'd care to admit, iced a lot more sore parts than we'd like to admit, or couldn't get off the heating pad despite the recommendations of experts (our team tends to obsess over heating pads 😂)... we still have to show up to work on Monday. We traveled 1.5 hours from Sioux City to compete against teams from across the country. We give it our all and lay it all out there. Every positioning play, every shift - we fight for it because we want to be there. And hey, we can appreciate any naps we can sneak in.

At the end of the day, we're adults who just love the game of hockey. Most of us started as adults learning how to skate - and watching those milestones unfold has been incredible. In Sioux City, the talent pool isn't huge, but we develop those who want to be developed. That growth is what we love to see fostered in our practices and games. Some had kids who went through youth hockey, and some of us are those kids ourselves. It's about finding that bridge - a love for hockey and the camaraderie that we all can appreciate. What a tournament this has been.

The wins feel great. The losses sting. But the memories? Those stick around forever.

Thank You Omaha Goodlife

Big shoutout to Omaha Goodlife for putting on another great tournament and bringing teams together from all over the country. This is what it's all about.

Proud of every single one of you. Grateful I get to lace 'em up again tomorrow. Let's do it again.
